This position carries significant responsibilities including the duties of maintaining safety and comfort for the building's occupants. This requires the commitment, skill and professional demeanor of a dedicated self-starter and a team player. The nature of this position regularly requires emergency response after hours. All maintenance mechanics are required to respond to emergency calls 24 hours a day and will be issued pagers at no cost. Frequently repairs will require staying past regular quitting time to complete assignment. All extra hours will be compensated for in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
This position will be responsible for maintaining, installing and repairing existing or new HVAC, electrical or plumbing equipment and also perform general carpentry, sheetrack and plastering , flooring, doors locks as well as others related duties as assigned or requested.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Formal education from an accredited technical school preferred.
• Five years previous hands on experience
• Knowledge of all aspects of building maintenance and repairs: Plumbing, electrical, HVAC, swimming pool operation, carpentry, dry wall.
40 hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday, 3pm – 12am. During the training period, the employee may be required to work different days and/or hours than the regularly posted schedule.
