  • Position Summary

    The IT Director is responsible for directing and leading the entire Information Technology Department and ensuring that 92Y’s technology is provisioned to effectively, efficiently and reliably support the achievement of the organization’s mission and goals.  As part of, and working closely with, 92Y’s senior leadership team, as well as collaborating with users and the technology team, the director will be accountable for determining the best possible solutions to meet the overarching IT needs of the organization. This role will have a dual reporting structure to both the Director, Business Process Improvement and the Chief Financial Officer.

    Essential Functions

    • Direct and lead the IT department, including infrastructure and non-program specific applications.
    • Develop and execute 92Y’s overarching IT strategy, which effectively prioritizes short and long-term objectives and ensures projects and products are delivered on time and within budget.
    • Working across the organization understand and analyze all IT requirements and develop and devise cost efficient, innovative solutions that ensures 92Y keeps up to date with and benefits from the latest developments within technology.
    • Accountable for the leadership, development and evaluation of the IT team to ensure optimal use of their experiences and skills and the adoption of efficient methods of work.
    • Responsible for ensuring security/PCI compliance and the integrity of all of 92Y’s networks, systems, applications and data. Complete ongoing risk assessments to highlight and resolve any areas of potential vulnerability while maintaining up to date knowledge of all current threats.
    • Responsible for the planning, analysis, implementation and maintenance of systems; including contingency and capacity planning and quality assurance.
    • Prepares and manages departmental budget and ensures expenditure remains within agreed spend limits.
    • Oversee and develop a maintenance / update schedule for hardware and software programs/ applications ensuring that all necessary updates are completed.
    • Monitor and oversee the department’s response to any system outage and ensure that any/all escalated issues are resolved quickly and efficiently with relevant corrections to process or procedures are made.
    • Negotiate and manage 3rd party contracts as well as lead relationships with outsourcing cloud servicers provider(s) as well as with all IT related consultants/vendors.

    Education, Skills and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required; master’s degree is a plus;
    • Evidence of continuing education, such as certifications, is a plus;
    • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the technology field;
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in leadership or management in an IT setting.
    • Solid working knowledge of current security protocols and threats;
    • Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills;
    • Ability to foresee possible issues and troubleshoot them proactively.
