  • Position Summary

    The Assistant Director Marketing and Business Development, reporting to the Director, Marketing and Business Development, will be responsible for the direction, creation and implementation of effective and innovative marketing and advertising plans across a number of 92Y Program Centers. The Assistant Director, as well as having responsibility for leading teams, will be accountable for the strategic planning, scheduling and budgetary control of assigned marketing and promotional campaigns. The role will ensure that all marketing activities undertaken are focused on driving revenue and increasing audience awareness of the breadth, interests and vitality of 92Y‘s programs.

    Essential Functions

    • Extend the promotion of 92Y’s products and services by devising and implementing innovative, high impact, marketing and advertising strategies and campaigns with the goal of building awareness and driving
    • Provide strategic support and direction to program centers to ensure that all marketing, advertising and promotional campaigns are aligned to 92Y’s overarching brand strategy.
    • Responsible for the strategic planning, development, budgeting, scheduling and execution of marketing initiatives.
    • Research, identify and secure corporate partners that would align well with 92Y programs.
    • Help increase corporate sponsorship revenue by building and maintaining relationships with corporate partners and key industry contacts.
    • Direct and deliver multi-center sponsorship and partner relationships including development of proposals and agreements in order to maximize the mutual benefits of the relationship.
    • Plan, develop, recommend, book, monitor and evaluate advertising and budgets for designated areas.
    • Lead the development of on-going multi-channel implementation of 92Y branding.
    • Coordinate cross-functional work teams with responsibility for defining project scope, deliverables and timelines as well as the identification of necessary resources.
    • Develop corporate, trade and group marketing relationships and initiatives. (I.e. corporations, associations, organizations among others).
    • Identify key metrics and implement tracking systems. (Detailed results & ROI reporting on campaigns & initiatives).
    • Position will provide marketing support to other areas as needed.

    Education, Skills and Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising, Marketing, Communications and/or comparable work experience in advertising, direct marketing, e-commerce, promotion or publishing.
    • Five to seven years of experience in marketing, advertising and media, or brand management with a strong interest in cultural arts and/or non-profit organizations.
    • Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively influence others.
    • Demonstrated project management experience with the proven ability to manage timelines and balance multiple deadlines.
    • Must be intellectually agile in order to identify issues and make quality decisions.
    • Demonstrated ability to work with various staff to resolve complex project issues.
    • Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment, solve problems and make decisions.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint required; experience with database tools and knowledge of internet technology (preferred).
    • Demonstrated knowledge, expertise and efficiency in Tessitura software highly desirable.


    40 hours / week; Monday - Friday; 9am - 6pm.
