  • Position Summary

    The Associate Director, Events & Experiences, reporting to the Senior Director, Marketing and Business Development will play a pivotal role in assisting in the development and execution of event concepts for existing and new programs including XYZ, a new membership group for these generations with events specifically curated for them, as well as large-scale summits and sponsored programs. This person is a forward thinker who can come up new ideas to increase revenue and grow the profile of these areas. The ideal candidate will be someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment who can work with multiple teams.

    Essential Functions

    • In collaboration with the Senior Director, Marketing and Business Development, generate, develop and pitch new programming concept areas.
    • Facilitate relationships with agents and publicists to secure guest speakers, moderators, agents and thought leaders across a variety of fields. Manage and cultivate talent.
    • Responsible for producing small and large events and experiences from inception to execution, including coordinating all logistical details with talent and internal 92Y departments, welcoming guests, on-site event management, and ensuring a good patron and/or client experience.
    • Recruit, supervise and performance manage the Event Associate. Oversee and supervise external collaborators.
    • Assist in the development and execution of sponsor activations and concepts, deliverables, and details for signature events.

    • Maintain an eye on industry trends, new venues, and competitive analysis.
    • Develops feedback methods and analyzes data to implement strategies for improvement.
    • Attend events, as necessary, and be available to address any last minute requests or issues.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Education, Skills and Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree and/or comparable work experience within the live event or content generation arenas.
    • 5-7 years’ experience of programming /or live event concept development.
    • Possesses current relationships with relevant high-profile contacts and has experience working with high-profile talent.
    • Demonstrated knowledge and interest in current events and popular culture.
    • Demonstrated ability to generate innovative and unique programming ideas.
    • Proven capability of managing detailed projects from conception through to delivery and evaluation.
    • High-level of research and presentation skills accompanied by a strong proficiency in the use of both on-line tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Demonstrable experience of working on simultaneous, multiple, projects.
    • Experience working in a fast-paced and cross-functional, collaborative organization.
    • Ability to take initiative and research contacts.
    • A high-level of organization.
