  • Position Summary

    Reporting to the Associate Director, Events & Experiences, the Events and Marketing Associate will assist in the development, coordination and implementation of events and sponsorships and help identify, grow, develop and manage new business to grow revenue for 92Y. The position requires strategic skills and knowledge of administration, sales, event management including development of proposals, pitches, agreements, marketing communications, advertising and branding.

    Essential Functions

    • Manages timelines, deliverables, expenses, production and logistics for events and sponsorships.
    • Coordinates with event vendors and collaborators.
    • Works with all internal teams in support of event and sponsorship fulfillment, ensuring all deadlines and deliverables are met.
    • Coordinates event logistics including travel, event registration, sponsor requirements and receptions; drive team deadlines for various event-related deliverables.
    • Identify key metrics for reaching success for all sponsorships and create fulfillment reports on an ongoing basis.
    • Work with 92Y staff to curate and / or create event and sponsorship opportunities
    • Support the Associate Director and Senior Director by coordinating interdepartmental projects.
    • Keep track of all signed releases and contracts for events, programs and sponsorships.
    • Work with various departments within 92Y to conduct market research and competitive analysis to understand 92Y’s patron demographics and competitive advantage for corporate sponsorships, development and marketing.
    • Provide Marketing support to departments and the marketing team on an as needed basis and as directed by the Associate Director.
    • May be assigned other tasks and duties reasonably related to their job responsibilities.

    Education, Skills and Experience

    Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications and/or comparable work experience in business development, event management, sales, or advertising agency.

    • 2-3 years of experience in administration, marketing, events or corporate sponsorships with a strong interest in cultural arts and/or non-profit organizations.
    • Ability to develop creative and innovative approaches to partnership activations.
    • Energetic personality with the ability to build effective working relationships.
    • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
    • An ability to work independently without supervision, and as part of a team.
    • Demonstrated project management experience with the proven ability to manage timelines and balance multiple deadlines.
    • Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment, learn quickly, solve problems and make decisions.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint required; experience with database tools and knowledge of all social media.
    • Demonstrated knowledge, expertise and efficiency in Tessitura software highly desirable.

    Hours of work:
    40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with the flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
