Job Summary

The 92NY Program for Cognitive Strength and Ability (PCSA) is a strength-based program designed for individuals with mild to moderate cognitive loss that honors their intellectual and cultural backgrounds and their previous life experiences.  PCSA is seeking a per-diem social worker to join our growing team of highly skilled professionals who facilitate this cutting-edge program.

 

PCSA provides intimate, small group experiences for its participants and includes opportunities for in-person conversation, intellectual and cultural engagement, cognitive stimulation, and physical exercise. Each of our current seven groups is staffed by at least one per diem social worker and auxiliary staff.

Job Responsibilities Include

  • Co-facilitate a 1 or 2 day a week group with a team of social workers and auxiliary staff.
  • Create program content for daily discussion groups.
  • Oversee guest musicians and artists and help guide participant engagement in their programs.
  • Attend weekly Zoom planning meetings with the full team to case consult around individual participants, group dynamics, and specific concerns, as well as plan for and strengthen program elements.

Experience, Education, & Skills Desired

  • Master’s Level Social worker from an accredited program.
  • Experience facilitating groups.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a strong interest in working with older adults.
  • Background in dementia care preferred.
  • Team player with ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Fluent in Microsoft office suite, Zoom, UTube and other relevant technology. 

Work Environment & Requirements

The position will be in person at 92NY or at a near-by off-sight location and would require a commitment of 4 to 10 hours a week during program hours. 

Programs run Monday through Friday between 10:00 am and 2:30 pm.

Per Diem Compensation

$50 - $60/hour

 

The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
