Job Summary

Collaborating closely with IT and the Development Team, the Manager, Systems and Prospect Research supports platform integrations, including the CRM migration, and oversees analytics and reporting while ensuring data integrity. This role also provides hands-on prospect research support as needed, offering strategic recommendations on leveraging technology for prospecting, portfolio support, and ongoing donor coverage. 

Job Responsibilities Include

  • Lead platform integrations across development systems, including web and online giving platforms.
  • Serve as a key contributor to the CRM migration, supporting requirements gathering, testing, data validation, and post-implementation activities.
  • Partner with Development Operations leadership to establish and maintain data governance standards, ensuring data integrity and quality across advancement systems (including duplicate resolution, record accuracy, and data standards).
  • Develop and implement processes for ongoing data quality management and system optimization.
  • Produce and maintain standard and ad hoc reports and dashboards to support fundraising strategy, portfolio management, appeals, membership, and pipeline analysis.
  • Provide prospect research support, including data pulls, briefings, summaries, and institutional and individual prospect reporting.
  • Oversee the department’s use of research tools; evaluate and recommend new platforms and methodologies to strengthen research capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Prospect Research and gift officers to review portfolios, support moves management and generate cultivation and event lists.
  • Support special projects and other duties as assigned.

Experience, Education, & Skills Desired

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum 2+ years of prospect research experience in a nonprofit cultural organization or institution of higher education.
  • Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable written summaries.
  • Experience with prospect research and wealth screening tools (e.g., iWave, LexisNexis, RelSci, Foundation Directory Online, GuideStar).
  • Experience with Tessitura or a comparable CRM (e.g., Raiser’s Edge); proficiency in relational databases and data imports/exports.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet-based research.
  • Understanding of major gift fundraising principles and philanthropic communities (local and national).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with strong attention to detail, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment & Requirements

40 hours/ week; Monday to Friday, 9 am – 6 pm with a 1-hour unpaid meal break.

 

This position is approved to utilize a hybrid working model which is subject to change in the future.

Compensation Range

$65,000 - $80,000

 

The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
