The Membership Services Agent (MSA) is often the first interaction members, prospects, program registrants and guests have with the staff of the May Center for Health, Fitness & Sport. Their welcome must ensure a positive first impression. The MSA provides assistance and exceptional customer service to May Center members, program registrants, prospects, and guests. Responsibilities include ensuring that all individuals are greeted and given appropriate customer service, member check-in procedures are completed correctly, and that all point-of-sale transactions are processed efficiently.
The Porter position cleans and services the building area, moves furniture, equipment, and supplies in and around the building, and performs a variety of housekeeping duties to maintain the 92nd Street Y in an orderly and sanitary condition.
This role will principally advise on and provide counsel on legal matters related to labor law, ensuring compliance with multiple Collective Bargaining Agreements and applicable law. This includes providing guidance on employee relations, handling disputes, and potentially negotiating with unions. This role requires an expert in labor law, with excellent communication skills, with the ability to work with myriad stakeholders as well as interface with outside counsel.

The Preservation Project Coordinators will be an integral part of a grant-funded digitization project focused on preserving archival audio-visual media. This role is responsible for coordinating the movement of materials between storage and the digitization vendor, tracking project progress, and ensuring quality and accuracy throughout the digitization process. The 92nd Street Y in New York City is currently seeking a per diem, on-call Associate to fulfill the essential role of serving patrons at our box office during events across our four performance spaces. The Swim Instructor maintains safe swimming conditions in the pool, on the deck, and the surrounding areas. This position will teach youth and adults the fundamentals of swimming, and water safety. The Swim Instructor will create a positive atmosphere that promotes swimmer safety and engagement in accordance with 92NY policies and procedures.
The Afterschool Counselor is responsible for picking up children from their respective schools and bringing them to their 92NY Afterschool Clubhouse rooms (classrooms divided by grade). They will be responsible for the general safety, development, and growth of the children as well as supporting them with their homework. The counselor will provide quality educational and recreational experiences.
Afterschool’s year runs from September 8th- June 12th.
The Nursery School After-School Counselor is responsible for picking up children from 92NY Nursery Classrooms and bringing them to their 92NY After-School enrichment activities. They will also be responsible for the general safety and development, growth, and class support of the participants. The incumbent will provide high-quality educational and recreational experiences for participants.
Join 92NY Athletics as a Tennis Instructor for children ages 5-12! We are looking for enthusiastic, patient, and experienced instructors to work with young players in a supportive and engaging after-school environment.
Program runs from September 2025 – January 2026, with an option to extend from February – June 2026. Mandatory training sessions will be held prior to the start of the program.
Reporting to the May Center Executive Director, the Director of Aquatics will be responsible for the leadership, daily operations, departmental development and management of the Operations management team and the Aquatics division of the May Center to maximize operational efficiencies, safety and patron/member experience; while supporting program participation, member retention and Center profitability.
This position carries significant responsibilities including the duties of maintaining safety and comfort for the building's occupants. This requires the commitment, skill and professional demeanor of a dedicated self-starter and a team player. The nature of this position regularly requires emergency response after hours. All maintenance mechanics are required to respond to emergency calls 24 hours a day. Frequently repairs will require staying past regular quitting time to complete assignment. All extra hours will be compensated for in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
The 92NY May Center for Health, Fitness & Sport hosts a variety of member-based classes for adults of all ages and fitness levels. We are seeking instructors certified to teach Primary Group Exercise (Body Conditioning/Strength), Aquasize, Zumba, Yoga, Pilates, Spin, Aerobics (including step) and Body Conditioning. 92NY Group Exercise provides a supportive environment for staff and patrons.
Minimum of 6 months teaching experience required. Must hold relevant certification. No minimum hours.
